Usually, borrowers have to offer any of their assets as security against the loan borrowed. But it may not be possible for most of us to offer a collateral every where every time for example, if you have come to a metro city due to your job, it may not be possible for you to provide collateral to take loan. Considering such situation, lenders have now devised a loan scheme called Unsecured Loans, which can be borrowed even without offering any collateral. Therefore, in case of unsecured loans, borrowers are not required to offer any of their assets as security against loan borrowed. In this case, lender alone bears the risk whereas borrowers only deposit his documents but no security at all. Therefore, an unsecured loan is considered highly risky for lender.

However, lenders are into this profession to carry on their business and make profit. So they compensate this increased risk in unsecured loans by charging higher rate of interest than that of other categories of loans. Therefore, unsecured loans are always more costly for borrowers than other types of loans.

You can get an amount ranging from £5,000 to £25,000 in an unsecured loan UK. It is no doubt a reasonable amount for you. To borrow an unsecured loan, you have to be UK resident and have a fixed monthly income either through employment or self-employment.

Overall, unsecured loans are good options for those borrowers who can't provide any collateral against loan borrowed.
